What we don't collect

Pare Recipes ("Pare", "we", "the app") does not collect, store or transmit personal information to us. We do not:

• Require an account or registration
• Collect names, email addresses or contact details
• Use analytics, advertising or tracking services, or third-party SDKs
• Sell or share data with anyone
• Access your location or contacts

What's stored on your iPhone

Everything you create in Pare is kept in the app's local storage on your device:

• Recipes you save, paste, scan or type in, including your notes and favorites
• Recipe images downloaded from the sites you save from, and the original photo of a scanned page if you choose to keep it
• Your shopping list

We can't see this data. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, your backup may include it, according to your own backup settings with Apple.

Camera and photos (Scan a page)

When you scan a cookbook page or recipe card, Pare uses the camera or the photos you pick. The text is read on your iPhone using Apple's on-device text recognition. Scanned images and their text are never uploaded by Pare. Pare only accesses photos you explicitly choose.

Microphone and speech recognition (Cook Mode voice control)

Voice control is off until you turn it on in Cook Mode. While it's on, Pare listens for a few commands ("next", "back", "timer", "stop") and stops listening when you turn it off or leave Cook Mode. Pare does not record, store or send your audio anywhere.

On iPhones that support on-device speech recognition, speech is processed entirely on your device. On devices that don't, Apple's speech recognition service processes the audio to recognize the commands, under Apple's Privacy Policy.

Network requests

• Saving from a link: Pare downloads the web page and its images from the address you provide. That website receives a normal web request, like a browser visit.
• Purchases: the one-time unlock is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Pare checks your purchase status with Apple, including which version you first downloaded, so earlier users keep unlimited recipes.

Pare sends no information about you or how you use the app to us or anyone else.

Notifications

If you allow it, Pare schedules local notifications on your iPhone when a Cook Mode timer finishes. They're created on your device and aren't sent through any server.

Deleting your data

• Delete individual recipes or list items at any time in the app
• Deleting the app removes all of its data from your iPhone
• Nothing remains on our servers, because none of it was ever sent to us

Children's privacy

Pare does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here and update the date above.
