Saving recipes

How do I save a recipe from a website?

Copy the recipe's web address, open Pare and tap Paste a link. You can also tap the Share button in Safari and choose Pare Recipes.

A website didn't work. What now?

Some sites don't publish their recipes in a readable format. Tap Type it in instead to add it by hand, and feel free to email us the link so we can look into it.

I saved the same recipe twice.

Pare notices when a link is already saved and offers to update it. Your notes and favorite stay put.

Scanning pages and cards

How do I scan a recipe?

Tap Scan a page on Home. The camera finds the page edges for you, and you can add more pages. You can also choose photos you've already taken.

Some lines came out wrong.

Handwriting can be tricky. Lines Pare isn't sure about are outlined with "Tap to fix", so check those, and edit any line before you save. Good light and a flat, straight-on photo help a lot.

Where do my scans go?

Nowhere. Scans are read by your iPhone, not a server, and Pare never uploads them. See the Privacy Policy.

Cook Mode

How do timers work?

When a step mentions a time, like "bake 20 minutes", a timer appears. Tap play to start it. If you leave the app, you'll get a notification when it's done (if you've allowed notifications).

How do I use voice control?

In Cook Mode, tap Hands-free: tap to listen and allow the microphone and speech recognition. Then say "next", "back", "timer" or "stop". If you declined permission earlier, turn it on in Settings › Pare Recipes.

Pricing and purchases

How much does Pare cost?

Pare is free for your first 10 recipes. A one-time purchase unlocks unlimited recipes. There's no subscription, and every feature is included from the start.

What happens at 10 recipes?

You keep everything. All your saved recipes, Cook Mode and your shopping list keep working. Only adding new recipes asks you to unlock.

I used Pare before the update. Do I have to pay?

No. If you first downloaded Pare before version 1.2.0, unlimited recipes are included for free. If the app still asks you to unlock, tap Restore purchase once, or email us.

How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?

Open Pare, tap the ⓘ button on Home, then Restore purchase. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. Family Sharing members get the unlock too.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Your data

Do my recipes sync between devices?

Not yet. Recipes are stored on your iPhone, which also means they work fully offline. They're included in your iPhone's backups.

How do I delete a recipe?

Swipe left on it in the Recipes tab, or open it and choose Delete from the ⋯ menu.
