Terms of Use
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Agreement to terms
By downloading, installing or using Pare Recipes ("Pare", "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.
What Pare does
Pare helps you save and organize recipes for personal use. It extracts recipes from web addresses you provide, reads recipes from pages and cards you scan, and lets you type recipes in. Everything is stored on your device for offline use.
Purchases
- Free tier: you can save up to 10 recipes for free. Saved recipes are never locked; only adding more requires the unlock.
- One-time unlock: a single in-app purchase unlocks unlimited recipes. It is not a subscription and does not renew.
- Existing users: if you first downloaded Pare before version 1.2.0, unlimited recipes are included at no charge.
- Billing and refunds: purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's Media Services Terms. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Restoring: use "Restore purchase" in the app to restore the unlock on a new or reset device signed in with the same Apple Account.
- Family Sharing: the unlock can be shared with your Family Sharing group.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Pare only for personal, non-commercial purposes, and not to:
- Use the app to systematically download or archive recipes for redistribution
- Reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws or others' intellectual property rights
Recipe content
- Recipes saved from websites, including their text and images, remain the property of their original creators. Pare keeps a link to the original source.
- Recipes you scan or type in are yours. We don't claim any rights to them and never receive them.
- Please respect recipe creators' copyrights and use saved recipes for personal cooking.
Accuracy and safety
Pare is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. In particular:
- Extraction and scanning: recipes may be incomplete or misread, depending on how a website is built or how legible a page is. Check important details against the original.
- Timers and voice control: these are conveniences, not safety devices. Keep an eye on your cooking.
- Food safety: you're responsible for cooking times and temperatures, allergens, dietary restrictions and safe food handling.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pare and its developers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of data or recipes, errors in recipe information, damages resulting from following recipe instructions, or interruption of the app.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms; changes will be posted here with a new date, and continued use means you accept them. You can stop using Pare at any time by deleting the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
